AhlulBayt News Agency: Israel has reportedly asked Iran, through Western mediators, to halt its retaliatory attacks and return to nuclear negotiations with the United States.
According to NBC, the Israeli regime is publicly threatening Tehran while secretly reaching out to the Islamic Republic through intermediaries to stop the war.
A representative for Israel’s prime minister declined to comment on the matter.
Using his social media platform Truth Social, US President Donald Trump suggested on Sunday that Iran and Israel could end their conflict through his mediation, stating, “We will have peace, soon, between Israel and Iran. Many calls and meetings now taking place”.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched Operation True Promise III on June 13, hours after Israel, backed by the United States, carried out large-scale military strikes on multiple locations inside Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, military infrastructure, and residential buildings.
The Israeli regime assassinated high-ranking Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists, with civilians—including women and children—also among the casualties.
Iran’s latest operation has involved extensive missile and drone strikes by the IRGC, targeting sites across the occupied Palestinian territories.
Since April, Tehran and Washington have engaged in five rounds of indirect negotiations, mediated by Oman, regarding Iran’s nuclear program. Iranian officials have criticized the “contradictory” statements made by US representatives.
On June 14, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that continuing indirect Iran-US talks amid Israeli aggression is “unjustifiable”.
Later that day, Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi announced on X that the sixth round of indirect nuclear talks, scheduled for June 15, would not take place.
Albusaidi confirmed the cancellation but emphasized that “diplomacy and dialogue remain the only way to lasting peace”.
